Brendan has wide-ranging and in-depth experience in the real estate sector, including developments (acting for landowners and developers), leasehold transactions (acting for both landlord and tenant), and investment transactions.
Before relocating to Oxford, Brendan trained and then practiced with City of London firm Herbert Smith for six years. Brendan is ranked as "Up and Coming" in the 2015 Edition of Chambers and Partners legal directory, which comments that 'Clients praise him as an "absolutely fantastic" lawyer, and highlight his "very thorough" work'. Brendan represents a number of charities on a pro bono basis in connection with leasing matters. Notable transactions:
- acting for the American developer and operator of the O2 in London (formerly the Millennium Dome) for various matters including drawing down their headleases of the O2 Arena and surrounding entertainment district and leading their letting program;
- acting for a pension fund on all matters relating to a business park located in Oxfordshire; and
- acting for a Danish property investment company on the acquisition of a number of hotel and retail properties throughout the UK.
